Frequently asked questions

Will my kids like it?

Of course 🙂

Kids love Maze Story because it feels like a game, not “just another activity book.”

There’s a story with characters, a vivid world, and mazes that feel like levels in a video game.

Many parents say their kids stay focused for long stretches, almost like they do with screens 😉

How long will it keep them interested?

It usually takes about 1–3 hours to finish the book, often in shorter sessions of 15–40 minutes.

It’s not just a one-time activity. Even after finishing, many kids come back to it again and again, like a video game.

What ages is it for?

The books are mainly designed for ages 5–10, with three difficulty levels you can choose from based on age and challenge level.

Younger kids can enjoy it with some help from an adult, while older kids (and even parents) often find it fun and challenging too.

What makes Maze Story different from other maze books?

Most maze books are just a collection of puzzles. Maze Story is a game.

Every maze is part of an ongoing story, with characters, rules, and challenges that evolve as you go.

Kids don’t just solve a maze and move on. They step into an adventure, learn new rules, and use what they’ve learned to keep progressing, like a video game, but on paper.

And because it’s so engaging:

  • Kids stay focused for longer
  • They practice problem-solving and flexible thinking
  • They stick with it without feeling like they’re “learning”

Even kids who don’t usually enjoy reading suddenly want to know what happens next.

Is it replayable, or just a one-time activity?

The book can be reused and shared.

Most kids use their finger to trace the path, so the book stays clean and can be enjoyed again or passed on to others.

There are also printable paper characters, so kids can replay the adventure without marking the book.

You can use a pencil or markers, of course, but then it becomes a one-time experience.

Is it really screen-free?

Yes, completely screen-free.

Even though it feels like a video game, it doesn’t require any screens.

If you need a bit of help with the rules, you can scan a code for a short interactive guide, but it’s completely optional.

Is it good for travel, flights, or restaurants?

Yes!

The book is compact, easy to use, and doesn’t require screens or special tools.

It works great in short sessions, which makes it perfect for travel, flights, or waiting at restaurants.

Which difficulty level should I choose?

Not sure? Use our quick recommendation tool.

Each of the three books is available in three difficulty levels (9 options total).

  • Ages 5–6: Bite-Size
  • Ages 7+: Normal (recommended starting point for most kids, including older ones and even adults)
  • Finished Normal and want more challenge? Go for Hard
Can I mix difficulty levels in a 3-book bundle?

Yes. You can mix Easy, Normal, and Hard in any combination you like.

The bundle discount applies automatically when you add 3 or more books to your cart, no need to choose a predefined set.

Just add any 3 or more books to your cart, in any difficulty levels you like, and the discount will be applied automatically in your cart and at checkout.

Which book should you start with?

If you want to experience the story in order, start with Book 1: The Lost Cookies.

That said, each book stands on its own and explains the rules from the beginning, so you can start with any book and still enjoy the same magical game experience.

First choose a book, then choose a difficulty level. Every book is available in Easy, Normal, or Hard.

Is it educational, or just a game?

First and foremost, it’s a game.

But that’s exactly what makes it so effective.

To play, kids need to focus, persist, learn rules, navigate unique mazes, and think flexibly.

Because it’s engaging, all of this happens naturally, without it feeling like learning.

Even kids who don’t usually enjoy reading often find themselves wanting to read what happens next.

Is it for solo play or can kids play together?

Both.

It’s great for solo play, and also perfect for siblings or friends to play together.

It feels like a video game: reading the story, solving, and progressing through “levels” together.

Many parents also enjoy playing it with their kids as a shared activity.

What if we get stuck on a maze?

First of all, that’s part of the game.

Sometimes you get stuck, go back, and try again.

At the end of the book, you’ll find solutions to all the mazes, so you can always check and keep going.
