How It Works

What’s Maze Story?

Maze Story is a replayable maze-adventure book series for kids (fun for adults too!).

Each book combines a comic story with game-style mazes that introduce new rules and gameplay elements as you go, and includes printable extra content. It’s designed to feel like a video game, but on paper.

How the Adventure Works

The Story Begins

Every book opens with a comic intro that sets the scene and kicks off the adventure.

Next come the game rules. Simple, visual, and easy to follow.

Unlike regular black-and-white mazes, these challenge kids to think ahead, read the terrain, and use spatial reasoning to navigate each level.

Choose how you want to play.

Use a pencil, trace with your finger, or place a cutout character on the page. Both finger-tracing and cutouts make the game replayable. The paths are wide, so it's easy to move through with a little imagination.

Learn by playing, help is there if you need it.

Most kids pick up the rules quickly, though there is a small learning curve. If they get stuck, a short interactive guide is available online to help them get started. After that, everything happens on paper, no apps, no screens, just play.

The first few mazes teach the rules of the world.

Kids discover how movement works, which paths are allowed, and how to move between high and low terrain, all through hands-on play.

Comics drive the adventure and change the rules

Every few mazes, a new comic scene moves the story forward and sends the hero on a new quest. These scenes often introduce fresh gameplay mechanics, like bridges, ground holes, shovels, or cloud levels with completely different rules.

From Simple Trails to Cookie Kingdoms

The mazes start small, but soon you're crossing bridges, climbing cliffs, dodging obstacles, and flying through clouds across bigger, bolder levels while chasing the next clue, quest, or cookie.

Finish the Story… Then Unlock Printable Bonuses

After the final maze, the adventure ends with a funny comic finale, bringing the hero’s quest to a satisfying (and silly) conclusion.

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

Hidden throughout the book are secret codes. Each one unlocks a piece of exclusive printable bonus content online, like a short Maze Story adventure, new comics and mazes, a build-your-own-maze mission, and more!

What Makes Maze Story Different

Most maze books are repetitive, just oversized mazes with tiny paths.

Maze Story is different. It weaves a story into each level and adds game-like elements: bridges, traps, portals, and foes to spark thinking and create real challenge.

It’s not just a maze… it’s a story, a mission, an adventure.

And because it feels like a video game, kids actually want to play it.

They’re hooked while building focus, logic, and problem-solving skills.

All screen-free.

Difficulty Levels Explained

Each Maze Story book is available in three difficulty levels. Here’s how to pick the right one:

🎮 Normal (Recommended) – The best place to start: fun, balanced, and ideal for first-time Maze Story players.

🔥 Hard – For returning players looking for a bigger challenge. Try a Hard book after completing a Normal one and it starts to feel “too easy.”

🍪 Bite-Size – A gentler version, ideal for ages 5–6 or anyone who enjoys a more relaxed challenge.
